Choose a quote or section from each chapter (9, 10, and 11) that is meaningful to you. Please indicate next to your response the chapter to which you are referring. Post your answer.

March's Reading Assignment

 

After reading chapters 7 and 8 of Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works, answer the following questions:

1.  Describe a learning activity in which your students have used technology collaboratively. Post your description to the blog. Share the actual product at your next technology learning session. 

2.  Create and post a learning style survey with several questions that you could use at the beginning of a school year for getting to know your students.  The following link is from the Area 5 Blog which has some resources for learning styles:

February's Reading Assignment

 

After reading chapters 5 and 6 of Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works, answer the following questions:

 

1. Think of a concept or idea that you teach in your class. How can you use a nonlinguistic representation featured in chapter five to better engage your students? Post your answer.
2. Which of the note taking/summarizing strategies presented in chapter six would best fit with your curriculum and why? Post your answer.

For chapters 3 and 4 of Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works, answer the following questions:

1. Using one of the featured resources in chapter three for providing student recognition, create a certificate that you could use in your classroom. You might check out the Education World link posted below for some more template options for certificates. How can you use these certificate templates in your own classroom?

   2.  Using one of the featured resources in chapter four for using advanced graphic organizers, describe 

        a  lesson that you could easily incorporate this strategy. Post your answer.

Our next reading assignment from Using Technology with Classroom Instruction that Works includes reading Chapters 1-2.  Once you have read the chapters, please respond to the following prompts and post your responses on the blog:

1. In a short paragraph, list one of the strategies or pieces of technology described in Chapters 1 and 2 that you would implement in your classroom and explain how you would use it.  Also, share something you read that made an impression on you.
2. Please share a thoughtful response to another member's post (something more than "I agree...").

1. Read the introduction on pages 1-15.
2. What does the research say about using technology in the classroom? 
3. Look at the table on page 12. Choose three categories of technology that you would like to focus on for the November 4^th Cluster Day.
