Standards Based Grading

Assignment for November 4, 2008

In preparation for our work day on November 4th, please complete the following assignments.

1) Read pages 12-27 in Making Standards Useful. (This will assist in writing measurement topics). Each teacher should have their measurement topics written for the second nine weeks.

2) For feedback, read pages 5 - 11 in Classroom Assessment and Grading that Work. Bring two samples of work that you've given feedback on to the students. We will discuss your successes or questions.

Welcome to the blog for the Standards Based Assessing & Grading professional development strand.  Check here at least weekly for resources, information about the topic, and reading and reflection assignments that accompany the face-to-face meetings.  It will be necessary to complete all assignments posted throughout the year to earn the PLU credit associated with this strand.

  Read Chapter 1 in each book for an overview of the standards based assessment and grading process.  Check back on October 17th for an assignment to be completed prior to the November 4th session.
