Art Assignment Timeline Grades 6-8

In 7th and 8th grade, students were given an assignment sheet at the beginning of the quarter outlining their drawing assignments. In addition to this, 2 weeks ago we reviewed their assignments as well as deadlines and timelines for completion to be accomplished by the end of the quarter. The students that have not completed these assignments have also been provided alternative work in order to address required standards and be given an opportunity to receive a passing grade in class. Please see the chart below for further understanding.

Art Classes

Artcolor Students have been introduced in the art class to procedures and expectations, and the students have completed their pretest drawings and questions.

7th and 8th grade students received assignment sheets, which will be used as guides through out the quarter, for completing projects and checking for individual expectations.

Although the links below say 3rd quarter, they are for this quarter. Thanks!

The 7th and 8th grade students were given an option as to which of the first assignments they wanted to complete as their first project. The students have been working on sketches for their first project this week and should be on final drawing paper by Wednesday.

I am trying a few different things with the students.

One of the things is to provide a bonus for visiting the blogs, please see below.

Another change is that the students will be receiving weekly conduct grades. These grades will be reflected in the student's ability to achieve Honor Roll. The students are expected to reflect learning not only academically, but also through the conduct of being a good citizen. Format for these grades is still in progress, but students are aware of these expectations. For the time being, the grades will be posted on IParent holding the weight of "0" academically.

6th Grade students are working an exploration of Modern Art Styles. They will be doing research in the media center for a few days in order to participate in an activity to learn more about Modern art. The students will complete a trading card that will share information learned about a specific style of modern art as well as a personal interpretation of that style in their own drawing.

Bonus Opportunities: Every two weeks I will draw names from the bonus guesses for a bonus in class. You can submit your bonus guess to the box on the sign in desk.

Bonus for 6th grade: Submit 4 things you learned this week about a Modern Art Style that you found interesting.

Bonus for 7th grade: How can you express a personality using color and line?

Bonus for 8th grade: What are 3 options for creating an optical illusion?
