We started Australia and Oceania today. The kiddos labeled a political and physical map of Australia.

We took a post test and started vocabulary for economics of Latin America. We took 12 vocab words and started to make flash cards.

Monday, March 16th
Today was the last day in class to work on the projects. They are due at the beginning of class tomorrow. The students who finished before class ended began their homework.
HW - Read Ch. 9 section 3 and complete the bubble map drawn on the board. Brazil is the center bubble and there should be 5 branching out bubbles with the following subjects : Regional leaders, Government, Culture, Economy, and People. Group projects are due at the beginning of class as well.

We reviewed the section about Brazil. We viewed a power point introducing the Guerrilla movements and then began a reading about the Shining Path.

Thursday, March 19th
We finished reading our article about Peru's government ad the Shining Path. We filled out a graphic organizer about what items in the article helped Democracy and what items hurt Democracy in Peru.

We reviewed the sheet about Eva Peron and watched a video stream about her life.

To prepare for a group project we will be working on this week, we read Ch. 8 section 2 about the Economies and Cultures of Central America and the Caribbean.
HW - make sure your section assessment is complete for Ch. 8 section 2 and if you have a piece of poster board, please bring it in :)

We worked on our projects and they were doing such a wonderful job, I am extending their due date to Tuesday. We will be working on our projects on Monday again :) They will have to do the section we were going to do in class for homework on Monday though so that we do not get too far behind :)

We turned in our Liberators activity. We read Ch. 7 section 2 about Mexico from its Independence through recent time. We took a minimum of 15 main idea facts.

We reviewed our questions from yesterday. We then read Ch. 8 section 2 about the independance of Central American and the Caribbean and wrote our 15 facts.

We reviewed our Central America/Caribbean questions then began reading ch. 9 section 1 about the Independance of South America and took down our facts.
