Sm. Grp. Language Arts

There is no DOL this week. Instead we are reviewing the parts of speech with different warm-ups each day. We are also taking CRCT practice tests to help the students when they actually take the real CRCT. They will have an idea of what to expect.The CRCT begins April 23rd in the morning.

Students will have a flip book project to complete during the break on transitve and intransitive verbs. Directions will given in class and students will be shown an example as to how the book should be completed and how it should look. The transitive and intransitive verb flip book project will abe due the Monday after we get back form spring break, 4-14-08

Verb Phrase pop quiz for Wednesday. DOL quiz for this Friday. Homework due for Wednesday is two verb phrase worksheets.

Students have an action/linking verb test on Friday, 3-21-08. There next DOL test will be next Friday, 3-28-08. Next week we will begin verb phrases, transitive and intransitive verbs.

Small Group Language Arts

For homework, the students have to write down ten action verbs that the observed at home. Also they can review their DOL.

Compare/contrast composition is due Tuesday, 2-26. Students have a Venn diagram to help them do this.  Friday, 2-29 there will be a DOL quiz. We have been reviewing the DOL everyday in class. Students still need to review it at home as well.

Review DOL. Next quiz will be Friday, Feb. 29th. We are currently listening to a story out of the Literature Text and will finish it tomorrow. Students will have an activity and wrinting assignment as follow up and reinforcement.

Some students need to finish their manatee acrostic poems, noting facts. There is no other homework. We will continue to review the DOL and pick up with pronoun antecedents. There will be a quiz over pronouns and antecedents on Wed., 2-13. We will review Monday and Tuesday, 2-11 & 2-12 with worksheets as study sheets.

Students have DOL quiz for Friday (2-1). We have been working on locating information as part of the curriculum. We have been finding out information on manatees. Tomorrow students will take all the information they have and write a rough draft on manatees in class.

No homework tonight due to the shorten bell schedule for conferences. Students do have a DOL quiz this Friday, 2-1.
