6th Grade Health

The students are beginning a unit in human growth and development. They received a Choose the Best book during class today. These books are to be used in class and brought home for you to see what is being discussed. After each lesson, there is a section where each child asks their parent 3 or 4 questions. This opens the door for a conversation. These are very important conversations. Your children  can have these conversations with you or they will find someone else to talk to. This is an important time to once again remind your children of the values you want them to have. This can be done while dinner is being prepare, folding clothes or driving to soccer practice etc.  Keep your eyes on the road, and please, no car wrecks. The students can write your answers; please initial the page.

My husband and I wish that our children had this instruction.  It would have been easier on us.  For us, our question was how do you begin these conversations?  Our solution was to put the kids in the car, lock the doors and drive to Florida.  You can cover a lot of subjects in 8 hours and they can't leave.
