May 21st

Math 7/8:
Today you turned in the Route 66 Final Exam. You then worked on test corrections for the Unit 9 Test. We will be taking the Benchmark Test tomorrow. If the grade from that is better than your lowest test grade, I will replace it. You can come by during the time of 8:50 to 9:10 to ask questions from the Benchmark Study Guide.
Homework: Be ready for the Benchmark tomorrow.

Accelerated Math 1:
Today we took the Unit 8 Test. You then began working on the Benchmark Study Guide. If you have questions from it, come by during the time of 8:50 to 9:10. If your grade from the Benchmark is better than your lowest test grade, I will replace it. I will be sending home your test tomorrow for corrections. These must be brought back by Friday or they do not count.
Homework: Be ready for the Benchmark tomorrow.

May 20th

Math 7/8:
Today we took our last unit test on systems of equations and inequalities. There was a checkpoint on Parts 3 and 4 of the Route 66 Project. ***Please note the change to Part 4. This will make it work. Route 66 is due tomorrow. Please make sure everything is neat and legible. Make sure you have used the grading rubric to get all your possible points.

****Part 4 - Updated: Car A costs $18,000 and gets 30 miles to the gallon. Car A holds 12 gallons of gas. Car B costs $16,000 and gets 20 miles to the gallon. Car B holds 16 gallons of gas. Gas costs $3.50 per gallon. After how many tanks of gas will both cars cost the same? How many miles would you have to drive in each car to equal the same cost?

Accelerated Math 1:
Today we took a homework grade on the Study Guide for Unit 8. We then discussed questions and problems missed from the Take-Home quiz and the study guide!! I would like to congratulate everyone for exceeding standards for the EOCT test!! You all did great! There will be a study session tomorrow morning at 8:30 am!

Math 7/8:
Today we took a homework grade on our unit 9 study guide. We then split into two groups: project groups and extra review groups. We then spent the last 10 - 15 minutes of class discussing questions from the study guide. We will be having our last unit test tomorrow. There will be a study session in the morning at 8:30 am!! May 16th

Math 7/8:
Today we finished our notes on Systems of Inequalities. Here is a PowerPointe from the Holt Textbook Company on it. Download systems_of_inequalities.ppt I also gave you some practice problems to work on. Your test has been postponed until Tuesday. We will do some more review on Monday for part of the class. For those students who scored above an 85% on the Systems of Equations Quiz, you may bring your project materials to work during our review session. We will then look at any questions from the study guide. There will be a study session on Tuesday morning at 8:30 am! The Route 66 Final Exam is due on Wednesday. There will be a checkpoint on Parts 3 and 4 Tuesday.

Accelerated Math 1:
Today we took a homework grade on Equations of Circles. We also took a completion grade on the Circles worksheets from Tuesday. We looked at Areas of Sectors along with Volume and Surface Area of Spheres. These three formulas will be on your test for you.Your test has been postponed until Wednesday. There will be a study session on Wednesday morning at 8:30 am!

May 15th

Math 7/8:
Today we took a 5 minute warm-up over a concept from our quiz. We also took a homework grade on Graphing Inequalities. We checked for Parts 1 and 2 of the Route 66 Final Exam today as well. If you did not have these completed today, you have a lot to do before next Wednesday. We then started taking notes on Systems of Linear Inequalities. We will continue this tomorrow in class and do some practice problems. We will be having a test on Monday over all Systems of Equations and Systems of Inequalities. There will be a study session on Monday morning at 8:30 am!
Homework: Work on Route 66 Final Exam. Checkpoint for Parts 3 and 4 on Tuesday.

Accelerated Math 1:
Today we looked more at equations of circles. We will be having a test on Tuesday over circles and spheres. There will be a study session on Tuesday morning at 8:30 am!
Homework: All worksheets on circles and equations of circles are due tomorrow; Equations of Circles will be a homework grade, Other Circle worksheets will be a completion grade.

May 14th

Math 7/8:
Today you took a quiz on Systems of Equations. You need to be working on your final exam, because parts 1 and 2 are due tomorrow for a completion grade. You must have all the information ready to copy into a final draft by tomorrow. Parts 3 and 4 will be due on Tuesday for a completion grade. You will be having your test Monday on Systems of Equations and Inequalities. I will give you a study guide on Friday. The answers will be posted on my blog Friday afternoon. There will be a study session on Monday morning at 8:30 am!

Accelerated Math 1:
Today you took the second section of the EOCT. I know you all did very well, and relax now. We should get those grades back next week. You were assigned Equations of Circles in class today. We will look more at this tomorrow in class, so do not worry if you don't understand it all. We will be having a test on Circles and Spheres next Tuesday. There will be a study session in the morning at 8:30 am!

May 13th

Math 7/8:
Today you were given some extra practice of each type of method for solving systems of equations. We will be having a quiz tomorrow on this. There will be a study session tomorrow morning at 8:30 am, so bring your questions!!! You were also given your final exam today! This will count as a test grade, so it can help bring up some of your test averages if you do the assignment correctly. Please make sure you have Parts 1 and 2 ready for me to check on Thursday. They do not have to be the complete final work. I am just making sure that you have all the information completed and ready to make a neat/legible copy to turn in. We will be having a test on Monday over Linear Systems of Equations and Inequalities. There will be a study session Monday morning at 8:30 am!

Today you took the EOCT. I did leave some assignments on circles for you to complete. Please make sure that these are done by Friday. We will have a last minute review of those. Math 7/8:
Today we took a homework grade on Solving Systems by Substitution. We then answered any questions about the homework. We then took notes on Solving Systems by Elimination. We will be having a quiz on Wednesday over Solving Systems of Equations. There will be a study session Wednesday morning at 8:30 am.
Homework: Practice C: #1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 12, 13, 14 (Due Thursday for a homeworke grade)

Accelerated Math 1:
Today we took a homework grade on Areas of Shaded Figures. We then took notes on Tangents, Secants, and Chords. We spent the last 10-15 minutes of class answering any last minute questions about the EOCT!! This is tomorrow and Wednesday. I will do a study session tomorrow morning for some last minute review starting at 8:30 am. 3rd period will be testing from 9:30 until 11:00 both days. 5th period will come at 11:00 to eat lunch and we will be testing from 12:00 until 1:30 both days.
Homework: Get a good night's rest and relax!!! You will do fine!

May 8th

Today we played a memory game to get us thinking about substituting equations to solve systems of equations. We took a homework grade on last nights homework. We then took some notes on Solving Systems of Equations by Substitution.

Accelerated Math 1:
Today we took a completion grade on the extra practice sections 7 - 10 for the EOCT. We then spent the whole day answering questions from the extra practice sections 1 - 10. We will alot about 15 minutes of class on Monday for this also.
