4th 9 weeks

Welcome 3 to your Business and Computer Science course.

I would like to take this time to welcome all students currently enrolled in this nine weeks course.  This will be a fun and exciting time for you to learn what business education has to offer you.  I ask that you come to class prepared and with an open-mind ready to receive all that this course has to offer you. Students are asked to bring the following items to class daily:

  • pen/pencil
  • you may also bring in your own headphones or earpieces to use for this class

As this course is only for one 9 week period, we will be moving full speed ahead.

Where we are:

All grade levels will be exploring keyboarding techniques.  Students will be introduced or reintroduced to the keyboard and will be guided on how to compose the alpha and numeric keys on the keyboard by touch.  Students are encourage to practice the daily skills taught at home to build upon speed and accuracy.

8th grade students currently enrolled in this course have completed two years of  keyboarding principals and will be reintroduced to the keys learned within the last  two years and will continue to build upon those skills.  We are striving for accuracy in our current touch typing lessons.  The goal is to touch type 30+ wpm.

7th grade students will be introduced to the numerical keys and symbols. Students enrolled in this course have had an introduction to the alphabetic keys and will be reintroduced to those keys while adding the numerical and symbol keys.  The goal is to learn to touch type 25+ wpm.

6th grade students will be introduced to the alphabetic keys (two at a time).  It is strongly recommended that they practice 15 to 20 minutes each night to reinforce the skills learned in class for that day.  We are striving for accuracy, speed will come in time.  The goal is to learn touch type 20 wpm with less than 3 errors.

As this class is a nine-week course, we will be moving full speed ahead.  So lets get prepared and have an enjoyable learning experience.
